IAQG > Certification Management
IAQG Authentication is a program managed by IAQG that ensures auditors conducting certification audits in the aviation, space, and defense industries meet consistent, globally aligned standards. By adopting a centrally managed approach, IAQG reduces variability across regional processes and promotes a more uniform interpretation of standards that continues to elevate confidence in the IAQG Certification Scheme worldwide.
IAQG Authentication will launch in late Q3 2026, with a recognition process opening in Late Q2 2026 for currently qualified auditors listed in OASIS. During this “freeze” period, existing active authentications will remain recognized while eligible auditors complete the online recognition steps. For the latest updates and answers to common questions, please refer to the News and Frequently Asked Questions on this page or visit the IAQG Authentication Information Site.
IAQG Authentication is a an IAQG‑managed program that provides globally consistent authentication and certification criteria, policies, and procedures for auditors conducting audits within the IAQG Certification Scheme.
IAQG is moving to a centrally managed authentication model to improve global consistency, standardization, and interpretation of requirements. This replaces multiple regional approaches with an internationally aligned system.
IAQG Authentication will launch following a defined transition period in 2026. Key dates include:
During this transition, auditors complete the recognition process, and IAQG Authentication becomes the basis for ongoing auditor eligibility within the Certification Scheme.
Existing AABs can still provide other independent authentication or certification programs. However, after the Freeze Period, the IAQG will only acknowledge authenticated auditors who hold recognition in 9100, 9110, and 9120 Certification Scheme, as confirmed by IAQG Authentication.
Auditors must meet two key requirements to remain eligible:
If an auditor is active at the start of the freeze period, their authentication will remain recognized through 3 September 2026, regardless of its listed expiration date.
After the freeze period, only auditors recognized through IAQG Authentication will remain eligible to conduct audits.
The existing Auditor Recognition window is the time period for eligible auditors to complete the online recognition process and have their existing authentications recognized by IAQG Authentication.
Auditors who complete the existing Auditor Recognition Process within the recognition window will have their status reflected in OASIS and will remain eligible to conduct audits under the IAQG Certification Scheme.
Auditors who do not complete the existing Auditor Recognition Process during the Freeze Period will have their authentications deactivated, their status will not be reflected in OASIS, and will not remain eligible to conduct audits within the IAQG Certification Scheme.
.
Auditors seeking new authentications may apply directly through IAQG Authentication during the Freeze Period. Due to the system lockdown, approved applications will take effect after the Freeze Period.
Applications already submitted to existing AABs should be fully processed and entered into OASIS before the start of the Freeze Period. Applications not actioned and/or approved in OASIS by this time will need to be resubmitted directly through IAQG Authentication.
Ongoing requirements, such as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and audit experience tracking, will become effective starting July 2027. Activities completed between July 2026 and June 2027 may be counted toward future requirements.
During the transition to IAQG Authentication, authentication records in OASIS are temporarily frozen, and auditors complete a recognition process to transition into the IAQG-managed model. During this period, auditors who are actively authenticated at the start of the transition remain recognized until the process is complete.
Auditors should take the following steps to prepare:
Taking these steps helps ensure a smooth transition to IAQG Authentication.
To remain eligible within the IAQG Certification Scheme, auditors must have an active authentication status at the start of the transition period. Auditors who are not active may not be eligible to continue in the process.
The Existing Auditor Recognition process is the step auditors must complete to have their current authentication recognized under IAQG Authentication. This process ensures that auditors transition into the IAQG-managed system and maintain eligibility within the certification scheme.
After the freeze period concludes:
Taking action before the freeze period helps ensure continuity and avoids disruption.
IAQG Authentication includes fees associated with initial applications, ongoing authentication, and advancement within the model. Further details on pricing are available as part of IAQG Authentication program updates and can be found here.
Yes. IAQG Authentication uses a tiered system:
