With the launch of IAQG Authentication, there is no longer a need to support the maintenance of a standard (or elements of a standard) that outlines requirements for auditor authentication. As such, the Certification Oversight team has issued Resolution 176 (see below), withdrawn Resolutions 61, 64, 78, 126, 137 and 164, and revised Resolutions 107 and 162 to remove obsolete elements referring to auditor authentication. Review the latest Resolution log here.
Effective immediately, the IAQG will transition to a centralized authentication approach where the IAQG directly maintains control over auditor evaluation and recognition through IAQG Authentication. This shift ensures that the IAQG and its members remain the final authority on auditor approvals for IAQG AQMS audits.
As a result, any element of the 9104/3:2007 standard that defines, references, or relates to the authentication of Aerospace Auditors (AA) or Aerospace Experienced Auditors (AEA) or the management of such auditors by an Auditor Authentication Body (AAB) will no longer be recognized by the IAQG for authentication purposes. This rescission includes, but is not limited to, the following sections of the current applicable version:
- Table of Contents, Sections 5, 7, and 8.
- Aerospace Quality Management System Auditor Competency Requirements
- Aerospace Quality Management System Aerospace Experienced Auditor Assessment and Authentication
- Re-Authentication or Withdrawal of Aerospace Quality Management System Aerospace Experienced Auditor
To ensure a harmonized global approach, decentralized Auditor Authentication Bodies (AABs) will no longer be delegated as recognized entities within the IAQG’s Certification scheme. While former AABs may choose to continue independent authentications, only those auditors recognized directly through IAQG Authentication are authorized to perform audits within the IAQG Scheme.
Existing AA or AEA auditors who wish to remain active in the IAQG Certification Scheme must apply and be recognized by IAQG Authentication.
All other requirements of 9104/3 remain in full effect until the withdrawal of the standard or further notification via IAQG resolution. Any entity listed in the standard that would have previously interacted with an AAB, shall direct any future interactions, questions, or support requests to IAQG Authentication.
New authentication requirements, new authentication levels, new personnel certification offerings, and application instructions for authentication or certification are available at the IAQG Authentication website.
