For the first time in IAQG history, founding member Airbus hosted a communication event to spread the knowledge of what IAQG delivers and the value added for the Airbus group taking part in it and using its products.
Hosted by Oliver Kraatz as the Airbus group IAQG voting member, the event took place at Airbus Headquarters in Toulouse, France, on June 15th, 2023. IAQG president, Andy Maher and EAQG Chair, Nino Giardina participated as key guest speakers.
Airbus Commercial, Airbus Helicopters, Airbus Defense & Space, Airbus Aerostructures, and Airbus Atlantic took part in the event with colleagues ranging from different functions like procurement, quality, maintenance, program, etc. Around 250 people participated both physically and remotely.
The event started with a contribution from the Head of Quality from Airbus Commercial highlighting the relevance of international standards and the importance of quality in all functions/activities. A panel discussion that included IAQG and EAQG leadership along with Airbus representatives from different divisions followed discussing what IAQG delivers and what Airbus expects from IAQG.
A special contribution from the procurement operations department allowed us to share the AQMS use in supply chain surveillance and highlighted the pain points for which IAQG can deliver appropriate solutions.
An awareness of export control and quiz showed relevance on such a topic with regard to the interaction with any external association.
The afternoon was dedicated to marketplaces addressing the Certification Oversight Team (COT), PSCI / SCMH, Standards and APQP.
This event allowed the IAQG to affirm the already reinforced Airbus group collaboration and initiatives in IAQG and value for Airbus.
